David Zalopany, CEO/Administrator
After graduating from California State University, Fullerton in 1994 with a degree in Business, David began his career with Hygieia. 15 years later, he proudly serves as its CEO/Administrator and considers his employees part of his family and Hygieia’s greatest asset. On his off time, Dave loves to travel and dine at new places with his wife and stepdaughter—and sometimes his Miniature Schnauzer, Coconut; and two Pugs, Basia and Betty Boop also join in on the fun. A foodie and amateur chef, Dave loves spending time in the kitchen working on his next culinary creation and entertaining his friends and family at his home in Huntington Beach.

Kathy Rahder, RN, With over 30 years of professional experience, Kathy joined Hygieia Home Health in 2005. She holds both a Bachelors Degree in Choral Music from California State University, Fullerton and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Long Beach City College. Prior to joining Hygieia, Kathy worked at St. Mary Medical Center and then in home health at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Along with nursing, her passions include singing, playing the piano, and ringing in her church’s bell choir. She also enjoys baking and hiking in the mountains with her dog, Sadie. And sometimes, Kathy says, she is allowed to share her home with her two cats, Sonny and Gabriella.

Ching Abalos Ching has been with Hygieia Home Health since 2006, and in the medical profession since 2000. Prior to Hygieia, he worked as a transcriber and laboratory and mobile x-ray supervisor. Ching holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Foreign Service, and spent 20 years working in the airline business before making the switch to the medical industry. Though the two fields are very different, he’s happy that he made the switch to medial and enjoys his work. A proud mother of four children, she loves to shop and spend time enjoying life with his family and friends.

Belinda Lagman Belinda joined the Hygieia family in 1999, and is responsible for quality management issues including coding and plans of care. She started her career in the health care industry in 1990 having previously worked in outpatient rehab, home medical equipments, and finally home health. Belinda graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism, making her the resident proofreader and spell-checker. Life outside of Hygieia is very busy and fulfilling with her husband Tony, two children and three grandchildren. Both Tony and Belinda are active in City on the Hill, a Catholic covenant community and the Filipino community of St. Cecilia in Tustin. When she has free time, Belinda loves to read, bowl, get massages, and take walks along the beach in Newport.
Maria Paz Yturriaga, QA Coordinator Maria (AKA “Chit”) hails from the “Island of the Last Frontier”, Palawan, Philippines. Chit has worked in home health since 1999, and joined the Hygieia family in 2006 as a QA Coordinator. Prior to that, she was a private practice M.D. specializing in Pediatrics and Family Medicine—and especially enjoyed delivering babies! She loves to travel with her best friend and husband Gerry, and hopes to one day volunteer for Doctors Without Borders or Catholic Relief Services, so that she can give back and help out in some of the many countries she has visited.
